Clubs Reopening in Las Vegas Since the Start of Pandemic Closures

When sharing news with the public it is important to have an amazing pitch to draw in interest. In this sample, I provide a strong media pitch to encourage the release to be published.

Since the announcement of COVID-19 in March of 2020, one of the largest industries in Las Vegas, the Nightclubs, are due to reopen on May 1, 2021. Governor Steve Sisolak is hopeful that the number of infection rates has declined dramatically since the introduction of the vaccines. With more and more people getting vaccinated this brings hope to the Nightclub industry, something that Las Vegas is very well known for.

Based on Governor Sisolak’s plan, the reopening of Nightclubs and other public settings with groups of people will gradually increase. Earlier this month, on February 15, businesses that attract groups of people are moving into 35% capacity and by March 15, so long as numbers of infections remain low, will move to 50% capacity. The great news, especially for the club industry is “public gatherings and events can increase to 100 individuals or 35% of fire code capacity, whichever is less, with strict social distancing.” (Jordan Gartner, 2021) This news is very hopeful for the city of Las Vegas to move closer to normalcy since the majority of the city was shut down at the beginning of the pandemic.

Ultimately the goal is that by May 1st, to be closer to a higher capacity so long as infection numbers remain low, the state, especially the industries that are most impacted will be able to start operating once again and begin repairing the economy of the Las Vegas Strip. Nightclubs are a staple in the Las Vegas economy and industry bringing in millions of people every year and millions of dollars as well. It is hopeful to hear the Governor and hotels speaking on reopening the industry after nearly a year of closure, affecting jobs lost and revenue streams for the hotels and nightclub owners.
